ARTIFACT:

This is an early 1950's "matron" sheriff badge from Contra Costa County, California, located in the San Francisco Bay Area..

The badge is a six-pointed star with the seal of the State of California at center and reads: 
PATRICIA MESLER DEPUTY SHERIFF CONTRA COSTA CO.

VINTAGE:

Circa Early 1950s.

SIZE:

2-1/16" in height and 1-13/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass with enameled lettering.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical kick pin with forked locking catch.

MARKINGS:

THE ED JONES CO. OAKLAND CAL.
