ARTIFACT:

This is a great old circa 1910s deputy sheriff badge six-point star badge from Contra Costa County, California. located in the San Francisco Bay Area. The badge has the earliest Ed Jones of Oakland maker mark I have ever seen. This badge just has a great look to it. All the fonts are plain save on the "Sheriff", where there is a bit of flair shown in the serifs.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1910s.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-1/2" in height and 2-3/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel-plated nickel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical safety-style pin with saddle.

MARKINGS:

Ed Jones & Co. OAKLAND, CAL.
