Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa early 1950's twenty-five years of service pin for the Boston Globe newspaper. The pin was made by Robbins Company of Attleboro, Massachusetts and has the winged diamond maker mark that the company used from World War II sometime into the 1950's on reverse. The pin shows the Globe's rotund gentleman character at its center and its enameled border reads QUARTER CENTURY BOSTON GLOBE.

VINTAGE:

Circa early 1950's.

SIZE:

Approximately 9/16" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold-filled with enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS:

Robbins Co. maker mark (winged diamond bearing an "R") 1/10 10K GF.
