ARTIFACT:
This is an early 1950s badge for the 515th Transportation Group. The 515th was reorganized two years after the end of World War II and stationed in Algeria. The badge was cast in sand and enameled in Indochina from a Drago badge. It shows a gazelle bounding across Africa and is bordered by an anchor and toothed gear.
Voici un insigne circa debut des annees 1950 pour le 515 Groupe de Transport. Le 515e a ete reorganise deux ans apres la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale et stationne en Algerie. L'insigne a ete coule dans le sable et emaille en Indochine a partir d'un insigne de Drago. Il montre une gazelle bondissant a travers l'Afrique et est bordee par une ancre et roue dentee.

Approximately" 1-5/16" in diameter. 3.3 cm de diametre.

Gold-plated brass, enamel. Laiton plaque or email.
