Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1920 or early 1920s United States Marine Corps officer dress EGA cap badge in "The Beast" variation. This eagle, globe and anchor is reportedly by Gemsco, although it has no maker mark. The continents on the globe are very raised and the rope makes a nice wide loop out around the anchor.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1920 or early 1920s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-9/16" in height and 1-3/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated and gilt brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Single screw post with disc backing, stabilization post (bent).

MARKINGS:

None.

7+ (Very Fine+): The EGA shows some small areas of light wear and tarnish.
