ARTIFACT: Early 1900'S Fire Mark from Home Insurance Co. of New York. The black and gold painted tin fire mark is in remarkable condition and reads: "INSURED HOME NEW YORK". Fire marks were purchased from firefighting companies by building owners as a way to guarantee help whenever a fire occurred.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1900's

SIZE: Approximately 8" x 5"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted tin.

ATTACHMENT: Four holes.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a fire and rescue collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay-C06/12/19 PAJV15 LABEX5/15

CONDITION: 9- (Excellent+): The fire mark shows only mild wear to surface and reverse shows minor to moderate oxidation, nearly all the painted details remain fully intact, overall remarkable condition.
