Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a set of circa early 1870s single-lock handcuffs with a smaller bow in an upright keyhole variant by Tower's, a dominant US manufacturer of restraints from the 1860s through the 1940s. They come with their original key and have a patent mark on one cuff.

VINTAGE:

Circa early 1870s.

SIZE:

Approximately 8-7/8" in length by 4-1/2" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Iron.

ATTACHMENT:

Chain, lock with key.

MARKINGS:

Pat'd June 17 '62 & July 17 '66.
