Description
This is a Donation Day tinnie for the German Youth Hostels JDH,or Deutschen Jugend Herbergen). The tinnie has a wonderful paper tag on the reverse showing the Munich manufacturer's information. It reads OPFERTAG FUR DIE DEUTSCHEN JUGEND HERBERGEN, and shows a youth straddling a swastika at its center.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930's.
SIZE:Approximately 1-7/16" in height and 1" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Stamped brass.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal safety-style pin.
MARKINGS:H. WITTMANN ABZEICHEN-PLAKETTEN MUNCHEN 2.S0. on paper tag.
