Description
Extremely cool, unusual, and unique WWII United States Navy hand-made souvenir buckle from the Battle of Attu, Alaska. The center of the buckle reads: "ATTU" and just above: "NAVY". The buckle is made from an issue USN brass belt buckle with part of a steel US Navy button, a halved bullet projectile, and spells: "ATTU" with formed pieces of leaded brass.
VINTAGE:Circa WWII.
SIZE:Approximately 2-3/4" in length x 1-3/8" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Brass, steel, leaded brass.
ATTACHMENT:Clamp & friction buckle.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The buckle shows moderate wear, oxidation to Navy button, much of the brass plated details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
