Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a Civil War period 20th Corps badge attributed to Captain William L. Patterson of the 111th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers. The pin is a five-pointed star with an accompanying paper with the Captain's milestones in the Army. Captain Patterson was promoted from First Lieutenant in March 1864 after sustaining two injuries the previous year at both Chancellorsville and Gettysburg.

VINTAGE:

Circa Civil War.

SIZE:

Badge has 1-3/8" height and 1-3/8" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold-plated brass with white enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with drop-in swivel catch.
