This is a movie wardrobe prop from the 1989 film "Glory", a story loosely based upon the real life Colonel Robert Gould Shaw of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. It is a Civil War era kepi (hat) worn by the Fort Clemens blacksmith character.
VINTAGE:Circa 1989.
SIZE:Approximate size 7 (no tag).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool, leather, mesh lining.
ATTACHMENT:Chin strap with buckle.
MARKINGS:FT. CLEMENS BLACK SMITH.
