Description
This is a circa late 1920s Boston, Massachusetts Police Sergeant badge numbered 343The badge was originally nickel-plated brass that was replated in the mid-late 1930s with "blue" chrome, probably when re-issued at the time to another Sergeant. The badge retains its original pin and catch, a rarity for this long-used series. It has the 2nd style numbers: small, non-serifed, which came into use by the late 1920s. The badge also has a ;arge City seal at its center and the Arm of Miles Standish at the top.
VINTAGE:Circa late 1920s.
SIZE:About 2-1/4" in width by 3-1/8" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chrome-plated brass (originally nickel-plated).
ATTACHMENT:Vertical kick pin with forked locking catch.
