ARTIFACT: This is a circa early 1940s pilot hat badge for Avianca. Avianca, which stood for Aerov??as Nacionales de Colombia S.A. (National Airways of Colombia), became affiliated with Pan American Airways (PAA) in the early 1940s. The airline is now known as Airways of the American Continent. The badge is a globe enameled in red and blue with a golden eagle flying above.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1940's.

SIZE: Approximately 1" in height and 2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing, stabilization teeth.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge shows only light wear to the enamel and minor tarnish.
