ARTIFACT: This is a circa early 1940's Passenger Service agent badge for Avianca. Avianca, which stood for Aerov??as Nacionales de Colombia S.A. (National Airways of Colombia), became affiliated with Pan American Airways (PAA) in the early 1940's. The badge reads "Svc. Pasajeros". The airline is now known as Airways of the American Continent.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1940's

SIZE: About 2" in width by 1-1/4" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated brass with enamel accent.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with come-under locking catch.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The badge shows wear, period replacement of pinback. Nearly all of the enameled details remain intact.
