ARTIFACT:
This is a circa 1970s jacket patch for the United States Air Force 42nd Air Refueling Squadron (42nd AREFS). The 42nd AREFS was stationed out of Loring Air Force Base in Maine from 1955 until the base's closure, and traveled mostly to points north in their missions. The fully embroidered patch shows a cartoon character riding an airplane and reads "Ready, Willing an Able".
VINTAGE:
Circa 1970's.
SIZE:
Approximately 3-15/16" in diameter.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Fully embroidered cotton/polyester threads.
ATTACHMENT:
To be sewn onto Flight Clothing.
MARKINGS:
Masking tape strip on reverse reads LORING AFB.
ITEM NOTES:
