This is a circa 1964 Japanese-made United States Navy CVW-14 Carrier Air Wing jacket patch. The triangular patch shows a rainbow, a lightning bolt and a winged banner reading FORTUNA FAVET FORTIBUS (Fortune Favors the Bold). The patch originally came to us accompanied by a VA-144 patch.
VINTAGE:Circa 1964.
SIZE:5-5/16" height and 6-1/8" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Black fully- embroidered patch in multi-colored cotton/silk/polyester threads.
