ARTIFACT:

This is a Japanese-made jacket patch for the United States Marine Corps Marine Attack Squadron (VMA-212), also known as the "Devil Cats", from when they served in Iwakuni, Japan. The ferocious cat on the patch is simultaneously biting and clawing a serpent to death.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1955.

SIZE:

6-1/8" length and 6-5/8" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Fully-embroidered in multi-colored silk/cotton threads.
