ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1952 through 1955 United States Air Force 48th Air Rescue Squadron jacket patch. The squadron was part of the 5th Air Rescue Group, which was then stationed at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama. The patch shows a winged hand above a globe flanked by many lightning bolts.

VINTAGE: Circa 1952-1955.

SIZE: Approximately 2-15/16" in height and 3" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Fully embroidered in cotton/silk threads.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The patch has only light wear.
