Description

ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1943 “Hitler Youth” diamond-shaped member pin made from wartime shortage materials. “Hitler Youth” was initially an organization formed to groom teenagers as anti-Semites, but during the War the Youths became fair game to restore depleted military manpower. The pin is in painted white metal.

VINTAGE: Circa 1943.

SIZE: Approximately 1” in height and 9/16” in width.

CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS: Painted white metal.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin with saddle.

MARKINGS: Maker's marks on reverse (hard to read).

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The pin shows some light wear with one small area of paint that has flaked away; some oxidation to pinback.
