Description
This is a circa 1940s member lapel pin for the Ninety-Nines, a women's aviation group founded in 192The club's birth happened at Curtiss Field on Long Island, New York, and it was officially named two years later for the ninety-nine charter members under president Amelia Earhart. The pin is larger than its earlier counterpart, and shows two very angular nines with a movable diagonal propeller across them.
VINTAGE:Circa 1940s.
SIZE:Approximately 9/16" in width and 5/8" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
