Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1930s member lapel pin for the Ninety-Nines, a women's aviation group founded in 192The club's birth happened at Curtiss Field on Long Island, New York, and it was officially named two years later for the ninety-nine charter members under president Amelia Earhart. The pin is two very angular nines with a fixed diagonal propeller across them.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930s.

SIZE:

Approximately 7/16" in width and 9/16" in height.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
