Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1940's pilot wing for the British Overseas Airways Corporation, which flew from 1939 until it merged with British European Airways (BEA) to form British Airways in 197The wing is in bullion, and shows a winged lion at its center against a blue crest with a golden crown above him. Nice patination and feather detailing.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1940's.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-3/8" in height x 3-1/2" in length.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Wool felt embroidered in bullion threads, silk, cloth backing.

ATTACHMENT:

To be sewn onto uniform.
