Description
This is a scarce circa 1935-1936 donation tinnie for Gau Essen WHW, or Winterhilfswerk (Winter Help Work). The tinnie reads Dank Dem Helfer Gau Essen WhW 1935-36 along its border and has an upright sword crossed by two hammers at its center. The tinnie is by Hoffstätter of Bonn. The Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt (National Socialist People's Welfare Organization) had the WHW yearly as a campaign to assist the less fortunate, and the slogan was "None Shall Starve or Freeze".
VINTAGE:Circa 1935-1936.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/16" in diameter.
