ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1930s Nazi German Winterhilfswerk (Winter Help) donation tinnie from Westfalen (Westphalia). The Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt (National Socialist People's Welfare Organization) had a fundraising drive annually for less fortunate members of the citizenry known as the WHW. Its motto was "None will starve or freeze". The tinnie has a cloth insert showing the Westfalen coat of arms: a reading stallion against a field of red.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/4" in height and 1-1/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted brass, woven cloth, paper backing.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin with tube, fold-over tabs holding backing on.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Nazi Germany collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBL95 LBHX12/12

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The tinnie has some light wear.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
