Description
This is a circa 1930s Nazi German Winterhilfswerk (Winter Help) donation tinnie from Westfalen (Westphalia). The Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt (National Socialist People's Welfare Organization) had a fundraising drive annually for less fortunate members of the citizenry known as the WHW. Its motto was "None will starve or freeze". The tinnie has a cloth insert showing the Westfalen coat of arms: a reading stallion against a field of red.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/4" in height and 1-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Painted brass, woven cloth, paper backing.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal safety-style pin with tube, fold-over tabs holding backing on.
