This is a circa 1900 railroad police badge from the Boston & Maine Railroad, a dominant New England railroad company dating from 183The badge was made by John Robbins Manufacturing Company, a Massachusetts maker, and numbered and hallmarked on its reverse.
VINTAGE:Circa 1900.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/4" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated brass with painted lettering.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin.
MARKINGS:2046 and JOHN ROBBINS MFG. CO. BOSTON, MASS.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The badge shows some small spots of light wear and abrasions and some of the painted lettering has worn away.
