This Great old Circle Star was produced by H. C. Liepsner of KCMO and has their earliest mark, dating back to 1880. The badge is hand stamped in Nickel Plated Brass.
Fairfield Kansas was in Wabaunsee County, West of Topeka, from the 1870's to at least the early 1890's, but there is little historical record of the Town.
The badge is of a typical Kansas style, in the larger presence Circle Star, measuring 2-5/16" in diameter, and is in great overall condition.
We also have badge #1 from this Ghost Town listed on the site. It probably pre-dates this badge just a tad, and badges 2 & 3 were added as the department "grew". The pin is broken on badge #1.
