ARTIFACT: This is a large United States Air Force 355th FIS (Fighter Interceptor Squadron) reunion patch autographed on reverse by Chuck Yeager. Yeager, famous for his altitude and speed records as a test pilot, first had an illustrious career with the USAAF. Among the distinctions he earned were the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Silver Star for five kills in a single day. He retired from the Air Force as a Brigadier General, but was made a Major General thirty years later. Yeager made his written presentation of the patch to "Top Gun Jim".

VINTAGE: Circa 1990s.

SIZE: Approximately 9-3/4" in height and 8-1/2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Fully embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: Chuck Yeager signature, Top Gun Jim.
