ARTIFACT: This is a wonderful small cheroot case in 1917-dated Birmingham marked silver. This case was presented by Sopwith, the British aircraft company, for wartime services rendered. Sopwith was an incredibly prolific aviation manufacturer, especially in light of its short operation span (1912-1920). The Camel and the Snipe are just two of the famous company's famous aircraft.

VINTAGE: Circa 1917.

SIZE: Approximately 3" in length and 2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silver.

ATTACHMENT: Hinge, elasticized bands inside.

MARKINGS: Marks, including ones for J.G. Ltd., Birmingham silver and 1917.
