Description
Circa 1970's United States Navy SabreHawks or Training Squadron 86 TRARON - 86 jacket patch. VT-86 was commission in 1972 to conduct advanced training for pilots in the USN and USMC on the T-39 Sabreliners, A-4C Skyhawks, EC-121K Warning Stars, and TS-2A Tracker aircraft. Training Squadron EIGHT SIX has received a number of awards since its establishment, to include a number of Meritorious Unit Commendations and Training Effectiveness Award from the Chief of Naval Air Training. The embroidered twill patch is the squadron insignia - a winged sabre or sword in gold and flanked by red and gold lightning bolts on either side - the bottom reads: "TRARON - 86"
