ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1950 pilot wing by Stokes for Ansett Airways, an Australian airline that later merged with Australian National Airways. The wing is enameled in a rich red. It has a crown on top and shows a map of the territories of Australia at its center.

VINTAGE: Circa 1950.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/8" in height and 3" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Two loops with pins.

MARKINGS: STOKES MELB. (Melbourne, Australia).

ITEM NOTES: This is from an airlines collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJM12 LBHEX8/13 TRBHEX7/16

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The wing shows only very light wear with one small spot of oxidation on one wing tip.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
