ARTIFACT: This is a circa late 1930s navigator or flight engineer crew wing by Stokes for Ansett Airways, an Australian airline that later merged with Australian National Airways. The half wing is enameled in a rich red. It has a crown on top and shows a map of the territories of Australia at its center. This wing has a nice patina from years of polishing.

VINTAGE: Circa late 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/16" in height and 1-7/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with C catch.

MARKINGS: STOKES MELB (Melbourne, Australia).

ITEM NOTES: This is from an airline collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay VAJM12 LDGEX8/13

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The wing shows some very small areas of light wear and tarnish and all enamel is intact.
