ARTIFACT: This is a dated 1916-1917 sweetheart wing from the Royal Flying Corps, the over-land air arm of the British military during World War I. The pin shows the RFC insignia wreathed by laurel leaves and flanked by spread wings with a crown atop.

VINTAGE: Circa WWI.

SIZE: 2-1/4" wing.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass with various colors of enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with come-under "C" catch.

MARKINGS: W.J.D. on reverse with three marks: an anchor, a lion and a lowercase R.

ITEM NOTES: This wing is from a British Royal Flying Corps collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJJX05 LBGEX

CONDITION: 6- (Fine): The wing shows areas of tarnish and some wear on the enamel lettering.
