Description
ARTIFACT:
This is a Circa 1890's 6 point Star Constable Badge from GHOST TOWN Rosa, New Mexico.
Another beautiful old hand stamped Nickel badge, which could even be from the 1880's, this one has a very unique history. It is not really a Ghost Town, but perhaps more of a Drowned Town: What was left of this Town near the Colorado border was inundated by the manmade Navajo Lake in 1962.
Having such a simple, common name, it is difficult to find the history of this town, but there is sure to be some, given its location in Navajo Indian and Mining territory. I placed the date in the 1890's just to be safe, not knowing if the town existed in the 1880's.
