ARTIFACT:

This is a Circa 1890's 6 point Star Constable Badge from GHOST TOWN Rosa, New Mexico.

Another beautiful old hand stamped Nickel badge, which could even be from the 1880's, this one has a very unique history. It is not really a Ghost Town, but perhaps more of a Drowned Town: What was left of this Town near the Colorado border was inundated by the manmade Navajo Lake in 1962.

Having such a simple, common name, it is difficult to find the history of this town, but there is sure to be some, given its location in Navajo Indian and Mining territory.  I placed the date in the 1890's just to be safe, not knowing if the town existed in the 1880's.

VINTAGE: Circa 1890s.

SIZE: Typically sized at 2-11/16" in height x 2-3/8" in width

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Old Hand Stamped Nickel with painted area.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a western and lawman badge collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months.  VEJJV21 LCGIEX12/21 S2RLBVEJJX05/28/23

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent): Visually front and back, this badge has s lot going for it with just the right wear and yellowing on front, and nice wear-through of the nickel plating on the pin on back.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
