Ca 1880 Staten Island, New York North Shore Fire Dept. Friendship Hook & Ladder Co. #4 Badge

This is a circa 1880 Staten Island, New York North Shore Fire Department (N.S.F..D.) Friendship Hook & Ladder Company #4 badge. The North Shore Fire Department was formed by the merger in April 1874 of several fire companies along the north shore of Staten Island in Richmond County: Friendship H&L Co #4 was formed in August 1876, based in New Brighton. The badge shows a hook and ladder in relief at center and other firefighting equipment on two of the arms of the cross.

Circa 1880.

Approximately 2-1/8" in height and 2-1/8" in width.

Plated brass.

Vertical kick pin with C catch.
