ARTIFACT: This is an unidentified World War I helmet. The helmet has the Capitol dome painted on its side and a star its top. Painted around the inner brim are the words GEORGE E. LANG THE BOY THE KAISER HATED, in an Old English script (a sample is shown in the photo above).

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: No tag: approximate size 7-1/2.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted steel, felt lining, nickel-plated brass buckles.

ATTACHMENT: Two buckles.

MARKINGS: ZB54.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an unidentified collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. Item will not be sold until it is identified. VAEJX09 LX4/11

CONDITION: 6 (Fine+): The helmet shows moderate to heavy wear and the painted details are still visible/mostly legible.
