This is an unidentified World War I helmet. The helmet has the Capitol dome painted on its side and a star its top. Painted around the inner brim are the words GEORGE E. LANG THE BOY THE KAISER HATED, in an Old English script (a sample is shown in the photo above).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Painted steel, felt lining, nickel-plated brass buckles.
