This is an unidentified hat badge showing the Holy Crown of Hungary and coat of arms. The badge reads SZ.M.W.A.A.R.E.S.G.K.E.M.P.S.F.(?).: the SZ may stand for the coronation city of SzŽkesfehŽrv‡r.

Circa unknown.

Approximately 1-7/8" in height and 2-11/16" in width.

Plated brass.
