Description

ARTIFACT:

This is an unidentified wing that reads N.A.G.C. upon an enameled bull's-eye, and is possibly for an aviation or gliding group or club. The wing is in sterling silver and has a maker's mark showing an S with an arrow through it. This mark is on another wing we have for the Chicago Flying Club, so the C in NAGC could possibly stand for Chicago.

VINTAGE:

Circa possibly World War I.

SIZE:

Approximately 5/8" in height and 2-7/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Sterling silver with enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

STERLING and maker's mark (S pierced by horizontal right-facing arrow).

ITEM NOTES:

CONDITION:

8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The wing shows some light wear and tarnish with no damage to the enamel.

GUARANTEE:

As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
