ARTIFACT:
This wonderful old Western fire badge could be a generic badge for a Mission, or from one of the towns named Mission in the Southwest: Arizona, California (San Diego neighborhood), or Texas. It has double belt loops on back for wear, a typical type of construction from when badges were made to be issued to indigenous peoples in the US. The badge is made of nickeled brass, and shows a beautiful fancy horse-drawn steam engine at center. The badge is numbered 12.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1900.
SIZE:
Approximately 2-3/4" in height and 1-13/16" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Nickeled brass.
ATTACHMENT:
Two rectangular belt loops.
MARKINGS:
12 on front.
