ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1960s through 1980s captain hat badge for an unidentified foreign airline. The badge is in brown wool embroidered in bullion threads and shows a winged knight's head. Below the knight is a red and white crest bearing a gull. The top of the badge has four stars, denoting a captain rank.

VINTAGE: Circa 1960s-1980s.

SIZE: Approximately 2" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Wool felt with bullion and silk/cotton threads, cloth backing.

ATTACHMENT: Single post with clutch-back.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an airlines collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. The item will not be sold until it is identified. VAJM12 LX8/13

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge shows some light wear to the reverse.
