Description

ARTIFACT:

This is an unidentified large bronze buckle dating to the nineteenth century or possibly earlier. It looks as though it may depict a scene showing some type of pumping apparatus. The clouds in the scene have a very Chinese look to them: this could possibly be an early Chinese fire brigade buckle.

VINTAGE:

Circa early 19th century (or earlier).

SIZE:

Approximately 3" in height and 4-3/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Bronze.

ATTACHMENT:

Prong, two posts.

None.
