ARTIFACT: This is an unidentified large bronze buckle dating to the nineteenth century or possibly earlier. It looks as though it may depict a scene showing some type of pumping apparatus. The clouds in the scene have a very Chinese look to them: this could possibly be an early Chinese fire brigade buckle.

VINTAGE: Circa early 19th century (or earlier).

SIZE: Approximately 3" in height and 4-3/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Bronze.

ATTACHMENT: Prong, two posts.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an accumulation of unidentified items which we will be listing more of over the next few months. Item will not be sold until it is identified. MBCX13 LX8/13

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The buckle has some light to moderate wear and an overall tarnish.
