Description

ARTIFACT:

This is an unidentified circa 1880s or 1890s Gate Keeper badge for a place known as "W.A. & I.S.". The oval badge has a John Robbins of Boston, Massachusetts maker mark on reverse. It has some lovely decorative detailing at center and a finely etched border..

VINTAGE:

Circa 1880s-1890s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-5/8" in height and 2-7/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Chromed brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS:

JOHN ROBBINS MANUFACTURER BOSTON MASS.
