ARTIFACT: This is an unidentified circa 1880s or 1890s Gate Keeper badge for a place known as "W.A. & I.S.". The oval badge has a John Robbins of Boston, Massachusetts maker mark on reverse. It has some lovely decorative detailing at center and a finely etched border..

VINTAGE: Circa 1880s-1890s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-5/8" in height and 2-7/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Chromed brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: JOHN ROBBINS MANUFACTURER BOSTON MASS.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an accumulation of unidentified items which we will be listing more of over the next few months. Item will not be sold until it is identified. MEJV14 LX8/14

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The badge shows very little wear.
