Description

ARTIFACT:

This is an unidentified 2nd Empire Period French postal badge for the "Bureaux Ambulants" (Mobile / Wagon / Train Offices). The badge is by Monsieur Ameling, an engraver who lived on the Passage du Saumon (Passage of the Salmon) in Paris. C'est un non identifiés insigne postal français de la période du Premier Empire (Napoleon) pour le Bureaux Ambulantes. Le badge est par Monsieur Ameling, un graveur qui vivait sur le Passage du Saumon à Paris.

VINTAGE:

Circa 2nd Empire, 1852 - 1870. Circa environ 2e Empire 1852 - 1870.

SIZE:

Approximately 3-1/4" in height and 2-5/8" in width. Environ 8.3 cm par 6.7 cm.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass. Laiton plaqué.

ATTACHMENT:

Clips.
