Description
This is a beautiful World War II silver ring for the United States Army Air Force 86th Bombardment Group, 12th Air Force. The bomb group served in many locations around the European theatre and was awarded two Distinctive Unit Citations. The ring was jeweler-made in Italy and has the original owner's initials, J.B.G., engraved on the inside. The ring has he unit crest or Distinctive Insignia of the 86th Bomb Group engraved on front, and reads VIRTUS PERDURAT (Courage will endure).
