ARTIFACT: This is a beautiful World War I bronze level worker badge for the United States Government nitrate plant at Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Production of nitrate began within a few weeks of the end of World War I. There were three levels for this badge: the bronze was for a general employee; the silver was for management; gold was for upper management. The badge is oval with a nicely detailed eagle and is numbered on the reverse.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 2" in height and 1-1/2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Bronze.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with Tiffany style locking catch.
