Description
This is a beautiful World War I silver level worker badge for the United States Government nitrate plant at Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Production of nitrate began within a few weeks of the end of World War I. There were three levels for this badge: the bronze was for a general employee; the silver was for management; gold was for upper management. SIZE:Approximately 2" in height and 1-1/2" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Heavy Silver-plated bronze.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with tongue type 'C' catch. Tiffany style Catch is Intact but has some light damage, currently functioning more as a C catch than locking catch.

CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): The badge shows some light all-over tarnish and some minor abrasions on reverse. Overall, it is in excellent condition.
