Description
This is a beautiful World War I German trench art cigarette lighter with intricate decoration. The cylindrical lighter was probably made to look like an artillery projectile. It bears the name of the artist (Wilhelm Pfeiffer) and the words 1917-18 LIITTICH, along with the initials L.G. flanking a monument. The lighter has a delicate vine and hatch mark design and the overall lines of the lighter look quite Teutonic. The cap unscrews to reveal the lighting apparatus and remnants of decades-old ash.
