ARTIFACT: This is a great World War I "trench art" lighter made from the centers of Imperial German belt buckles fitted with a flint wheel. The lighter is quite large, measuring just over 2-1/2" in height. The buckle centers display the motto "Gott Mit Uns" (God with us).

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 2-9/16" in height and 1-15/16" in width and 3/4" in thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Brass, nickel.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The lighter has some light wear; the flint wheel is a slightly loose fit.
