ARTIFACT: This is a circa late 1920s aeroplane model contest medal awarded by the Fall River (Massachusetts) Herald News. The octagonal medallion in hand-engraved and shows a model in flight. It hangs from a navy blue ribbon and was made by Robbins Company of Attleboro, Massachusetts. The award-winner's name was not engraved upon reverse.

VINTAGE: Circa late 1920s.

SIZE: Approximately 3-1/16" in height and 1-9/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, silk.

ATTACHMENT: Suspension loop, safety pin on ribbon.

MARKINGS: ROBBINS CO. ATTLEBORO.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a civil aviation related collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. REX13 LFEX10/13

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The medal has some small spots of light wear and tarnish only and the ribbon has some fraying near the top.
