ARTIFACT:
Beautiful, large, and heavy (over 4.5 ounces) 1966 Japan Air Lines National Judo Championship medal in solid silver. The front features Japanese kanji that reads: "VICTORY" and are embellished with gilt details. The outer edge is a nicely detailed wreath of laurel leaves joined at the bottom with a tied bow. The reverse reads: "JUDO NATIONAL JUDO CHAMPIONSHIPS 1966" in the center and along the bottom: "JAPAN AIR LINES". There are two kanjis at the bottom which could be the maker's mark.

Approximately 3-1/8" in diameter

Heavy sterling silver (over 4.5 ounces), plating
ATTACHMENT:
Loop for attachment to ribbon or cord.

8- (Very Fine - Excellent): The medal shows minor to moderate wear, handsome patina, much of the plated details remain, overall excellent condition.
