Description
This is a beautiful birch bark container made by either the Iroquois or Seneca, both tribes in the powerful Iroquois League. The container is cylindrical with a removable lid, with wonderful painted designs on the cover and the sides. there is an old collection number painted on the inside of the cover as well as the bottom of the container.
VINTAGE:Circa 1880s-1890s.
SIZE:Approximately 3" in height and 3-3/16" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Painted birch bark.
MARKINGS:77B288 inside cover and on bottom.
